Greg Hodgson

Clinical Psychologist

I have had over 30 years’ experience working with adults experiencing mental health vulnerabilities that have arisen out of life events that have been overwhelming and traumatic.

These vulnerabilities might present for you in a combination of unique ways such as: mood swings, quick to react to situations and those around you, feeling irritable, on edge, super alert and at times just plain exhausted – both physically and mentally. Or you find that you go over or relive difficult situations or traumatic events, your thoughts race with a tendency to overthink situations or spiral into a negative place and worry about the future in your personal, work, social and family life. Avoiding certain situations or people that cause distress maybe causing problems for you. Perhaps you just sense that something is not quite right, your sleep is disrupted, and you have trouble concentrating. Maybe you are noticing physical symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, stomach pain, poor sleep, appetite changes or muscle tightness.

My philosophy is that once an individual can manage how their vulnerabilities come to the surface then they are in a better place to develop psychological resilience and move towards a better quality of life.

I have an eclectic approach to therapy which has evolved over the years from training and application of a number of therapeutic models with thousands of clients.

My skills have been gained in these areas working as Clinical Director and Senior Psychologist in a number of organisations as well as having a long history in private practice.
